WHO AM I?

  • What I'm currently doing and how did I get here?

Having graduated at Teesside University with a First Class Honours in Indie Games Development and recently finished my internship as a graduate intern at TUCan Digital Studio as a Technical Designer. I've had a passion for games since I was as young as 6 years old when I got my first PS2 and computer playing iconic titles such as Unreal Tournament 2004, Red Alert 3 and the epic Command & Conquer Generals series on PC as well as Lego Star Wars 2005, Need for Speed Underground, both original Star Wars Battlefront's and Simpsons Hit and Run on my PS2. Timeless Classics!

After studying Games Development at Newcastle college, I spent 18 months in a full time apprenticeship at Accenture as an Application Developer initially before showing an interest in DevOps / System Administration. I gained crucial experience working within the public sector for big clients. I made the most out of the learning opportunities available to me making sure I made an effort to attend after work courses and events In my free time. I also participated in volunteering projects including jobs fairs, speaking at high school assembly's and taking part in various community improvement projects. My primary aim was to inspire younger students and adults to choose a career in technology by sharing my past experiences as well as giving back to my local community.

  • In terms of the work I do, what aspects am I most passionate about and why?

My passion lies in crafting fluid and captivating user experiences. Recognizing the pivotal role of a player's first impressions, I place a strong emphasis on meticulous attention to detail. By doing so, I strive to create immersive, handcrafted gaming experiences that enable players to remain fully engaged. This dedication extends to empowering other designers to iterate quickly, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in the world of game design and development.

  • What I'm looking for right now and what I can offer?

I am currently seeking a game design role within the industry, although I'm open to exploring other opportunities that align with my skills and passions. I bring a blend of creative vision and technical proficiency, a commitment to staying updated on industry trends, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. I have expertise in game mechanics, user experience, and design tools, with a focus on quality assurance. My strong communication and collaboration skills, adaptability, and dedication to project success make me an ideal candidate. I'm eager to contribute to your organization's success and growth in the gaming industry.
